A client meeting in Denver made me stop using so much jargon

They looked totally lost when I said 'synergize our deliverables', so now I just explain things like I'm talking to a friend. Anyone else have to unlearn their old work talk?

Actually think that jargon serves a real purpose. It lets you pack a complex idea into a single, precise term that everyone on the team understands instantly. Dumbing everything down for clients can waste time and water down the actual meaning of what you're trying to get across.

My last boss lost a big job over jargon, @schmidt.willow.
