Rant: I was at a big networking event in Austin and everyone kept saying you need a personal brand. I think that's bad advice for most people.

A personal brand is just a clear way to tell people what you're good at and what you stand for... it doesn't have to be fake or complicated. In a crowded job market, it helps you get noticed for the right opportunities instead of just blending in. It's less about being an influencer and more about having a consistent story that makes people remember you.

Wait, "reliably late" is a brand now? That's just being a bad friend with a fancy name.

Watch this idea spread to everything now. Saw a dating profile the other day that said "my personal brand is being reliably late." Feels like we're just putting new words on old things to sound smart.
