My manager's one sentence fixed my endless meeting notes habit

I used to type up everything from every call, like 3 pages of notes for a 30 minute sync. My manager finally said, 'stop transcribing, start deciding' after I missed a deadline because I was too busy writing down what everyone said. Now I only jot down action items and owners, and I cut my note time from 45 minutes to about 10. It took me two weeks to trust it, but my follow-up game is way faster now. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made them realize they were hiding behind the busywork?
