My boss told me to 'just be more productive' after I showed him 47 tabs open in Chrome

Honestly, I was in a team meeting last Tuesday and my manager looks at my screen and goes 'you just need to close some tabs, it's that simple.' He didn't even know half of them were for the Salesforce migration we're doing. I took a screenshot of all 47 tabs, printed it out, and stuck it on his door. Has anyone else had a manager give advice that was way too simple for a messy situation?

Oh wow, this hits way too close to home... it's like managers just think you're sitting there opening tabs for fun instead of actually doing the work. I feel like this is part of a bigger thing where people in charge just don't get how messy real life is. Like, they want everything to be clean and simple but the world isn't like that. You can't just "close some tabs" when every single one is tied to a project or a client or a problem you're trying to solve. It's the same with all those life hacks online, like "just wake up earlier" or "just stop procrastinating." None of it helps because the real issue is way deeper than that. We're all just trying to keep our heads above water and people keep telling us to swim better instead of throwing us a life raft.

Sure but some of those tabs are definitely just anxiety spirals lol.
