Just read a report that flipped my view on job hopping

I always heard that staying at a company for a long time was the safe bet. Then I saw a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that said the median employee tenure is only about 4.1 years. I found it while looking up something else on their site. That number is way lower than I thought. It made me realize that moving around every few years is actually pretty normal now, not a red flag. I've been in my own business for five years, so I was out of the loop on this. It makes me wonder if I gave bad advice to a friend who was worried about leaving his job after three years. Has anyone else seen their company's attitude toward job hoppers shift recently?

Yeah, it's like that old rule about staying put just doesn't fit anymore. I see it everywhere now, even my cousin just left a job after two years for a way better one and nobody batted an eye.

Guess I'm the red flag then... been at my place for like eight years.
