Just hit 50k in my savings account for the first time.
It happened after I started putting 15% of every check straight into a separate account, no matter what, and it makes me feel like I can actually breathe for a minute.

That automated savings trick is a game changer. My cousin did something similar, but he funneled his extra cash into restoring an old motorcycle he bought for cheap. Said watching that project fund grow felt just as good as the savings number, maybe better because he could see the progress in his garage. Different kind of breathing room, I guess.

Remember reading about a guy who saved up for a trip to see the northern lights. He said the money felt different because it had a picture attached to it, not just a number. Makes you wonder if the goal changes how the saving feels.
