I turned down a job with a big name company for a smaller role
Had an offer from a huge tech firm in Austin for a project manager spot, but the pay was only $85k and the team seemed burnt out. I chose a lead role at a 20-person startup instead, making $95k and actually building something. After six months, I'm running my own projects from start to finish, not just pushing paper. Anyone else pick the smaller, less shiny option and have it work out better?

Same move here, way happier with real work.

Used to chase the big company name for my resume. Took a similar startup role last year and actually get to solve real problems now instead of sitting in meetings all day. The hands-on experience is worth way more than a fancy title at this point.
