I stopped asking for a raise the normal way and it worked in 2 days.

My boss in Chicago always said 'budget is tight' when I asked for more money, so last Tuesday I just showed him a list of the 3 big projects I finished and how much money they made the company. He approved a 5% raise by Thursday. Has anyone else tried just showing the numbers instead of talking about how long they've been there?

Yeah showing the actual numbers is the only thing that works. I started keeping a simple list of wins and dollar amounts for this exact reason. Bosses can't argue with their own profit.

Bosses can't argue with their own profit" is a bit optimistic.
