How getting lost in a foreign city made me a better project manager

Many people think travel does not teach job skills. I went alone to Japan for two weeks. Navigating Tokyo's subway taught me to handle unexpected problems. Communicating without shared language boosted my listening skills. Now I apply these lessons to manage team conflicts at work.

What went down in Madrid that left you without cash? I'm curious how you got out of that spot.

You're spot on about travel teaching real skills. When I got lost in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter (those streets are a real puzzle), I had to figure out old maps and use my bad Spanish. That whole mess is just like sorting out a tangled project plan at work. You learn to stay calm and fix things step by step. Now when a team hits a snag, I remember how asking for directions led me out. It's about seeing the big picture from the wrong turns.
