Traded in a car I owed $9k on and got nailed with negative equity I didn't see coming
Last year I traded my old SUV for a sedan at a dealer near Tulsa because the payments were killing me. They rolled $4,200 of negative equity into the new loan without me really asking what that meant. Now my payment is barely lower than before and I'm stuck paying for a car I don't even own anymore. Anyone else get blindsided by how trade-in values work with what you still owe?
