Can we talk about the car payment that outlasted the car?
My 2016 Elantra gave out at 128k miles, transmission went in a parking lot off 183 in Bedford, and I still owe about $4,100 on it. So now I'm paying $310 a month to look at a car that sits dead in my driveway, and the bank doesn't care one bit. I called and asked about a trade-in and got the whole runaround about negative equity rolling into a new loan. Has anyone actually gotten out from under a payment on a car that won't move? Feels like I'm stuck either way.
