That one guy at the junkyard who told me to stop chasing horsepower and fix my bushings first
Dude straight up said 'your car is fast enough, it just handles like a boat' while I was pulling a turbo off a wrecked Saab. Spent $60 on poly bushings for my civic instead and it drives better than the $400 coffee can exhaust I was gonna buy. Anyone else had to learn the hard way that handling matters more than a few extra hp lol

Buddy swapped urethane into his Prelude and cracked the subframe mounts within a month.

Poly bushings are fine but people act like swapping them out is gonna make their Civic handle like a Porsche. It's still a economy car with a stiff ride now. That guy at the junkyard probably just wanted you to buy his used bushings anyway. The real lesson is that most mods under a grand are just making noise and not actual speed.

Haven't you noticed that applies to almost everything people buy now? Everyone thinks buying the "right" tool or mod is gonna transform their situation, but most of the time it's just a small upgrade that nobody but you will notice.
