Picked a $40 junkyard rear sway bar over new end links for my 2001 Civic, half regret it

My rear end felt floaty on the highway so I hit the Pick-n-Pull in Arlington and grabbed a sway bar off a wrecked Si for $40, instead of just buying new end links for $25. Bar bolted up fine but the bushings were shot and I ended up back at the yard the next weekend anyway, so I basically paid twice. Anyone else gone junkyard first when new cheap parts would've done the job?
