Junkyard in Ohio had a goldmine of LS parts nobody noticed

I was down in Columbus last weekend hitting up a couple pull-a-part yards for a transmission cooler line, and I stumbled onto something wild. There was a whole row of old Chevy trucks and vans nobody was touching, and I found three complete throttle body setups just sitting there with the harnesses still attached. The yard guy said they been sitting for six months because everyone rushes to the newer stuff in the back. I grabbed two throttle bodies and a MAF sensor for like $40 total, which is probably a third of what you'd pay on eBay for used ones. The bracket on one of them just needed a quick wire brush and some paint, good as new. Anybody else find a hidden section at their local yard that everyone ignores?

Man, people really sleep on the old stuff. It's like everyone thinks newer is always better, but those older rows can be gold mines if you take the time. I've seen complete cooling systems and ignition coils just rotting on trucks nobody touches. Most guys are too lazy to walk past the first two rows and actually look. It's your gain for being patient.

Three complete throttle body setups just sitting there" - yeah, that's the kind of thing I used to roll my eyes at. I always figured those yards were picked clean first thing, but you've got me rethinking that. Might have to start poking around the older rows myself instead of just heading straight to the back like everyone else.
