Vent: that tweet taking down a baker in Portland felt off to me

I saw a thread about a small bakery in Portland that got hammered for using a slightly outdated cake design the owner said she was 'inspired by.' People called it copying and dug up her old posts from three years ago. Is there any room left for just being influenced by something without getting labeled a thief?
