Used to think canceling someone for old tweets was dumb. Then I found mine from 2012.

I always argued that people change and digging up stuff from a decade ago was unfair. Last month I was cleaning out my old Twitter archive and found a tweet where I made a really gross joke about a celebrity's appearance. It wasn't even political, just mean for no reason. The person I am now would never write that, but I realized how much it would hurt if someone saw it today. Has anyone else gone back and been shocked by what they used to post online?

Question whether old jokes really define who you are now. Honestly, most people have cringey stuff from 2012 but it only matters if someone makes it a big deal. Tbh, I'd just delete it and move on instead of stressing over a decade-old mistake.

Yeah, "cringey stuff from 2012" describes my entire Facebook history honestly.
