The apology video that made me choose between my job and my friend

My buddy got canceled at his company for a tweet from 2016, and our boss said we had to publicly call him out or lose our bonuses. I stayed quiet and lost $2,000, but he's still talking to me, so I figure that was the right pick. Has anyone here sided with the canceled person and regretted it later?
