That week I got canceled for a joke I told at a pizza place in Austin
Last month I made a dumb joke about pineapple on pizza to a group of coworkers at a place called Homeslice. One of them recorded it without me knowing, clipped out the context, and posted it on Twitter. By Wednesday I had lost two side gigs and my mom called me crying. The funny thing is the original video only had 200 views but someone with 50k followers picked it up. Has anyone else had something small like this blow up way past what it should have?

And your own mom crying over a pizza joke" is crazy levels of escalation though. Like it went from a dumb workplace thing to your actual family being upset about it. That must have been such a weird conversation to have with her. I bet she didnt even fully get what happened, she just saw strangers mad at you online and panicked. Moms are great like that but also it just makes the whole thing feel way bigger than it really was.
