That time I hit 10,000 followers and got canceled within 48 hours
Honestly, I was so pumped when I finally hit 10,000 followers on my book review account last month. Then two days later someone dug up a tweet I made in 2019 where I made a dumb joke about a grammar mistake. Suddenly I was getting flooded with screenshots and people saying I was a fake intellectual. Tbh I'm still confused why one joke from six years ago means my entire account should be gone. Has anyone else here had an old post pop back up and wreck a milestone you worked really hard for?

...and people wonder why nobody wants to share their real opinions online anymore. You hit a milestone and then the internet decides your past is fair game for character assassination. It's like getting a promotion at work and then someone finds out you wore mismatched socks once in high school. The grammar joke thing is especially funny because half the people calling you out probably make way worse mistakes on a daily basis. Honestly, congrats on the 10k. That's still an accomplishment whether they like it or not.

Jumping off that point, it's wild how people dig up old tweets or posts from years ago just to tear someone down. I mean, who hasn't said something dumb at 16 or made a typo that got laughed at? The whole "gotcha" culture is exhausting, like we're all supposed to be perfect little robots with no growth or sense of humor. Congrats on 10k again, seriously - it's a real milestone and people need to chill out instead of hunting for reasons to hate.
