Serious question, I stopped defending a guy who got canceled for an old tweet and it felt like a weight came off
Last week a buddy in my group chat brought up some guy we both used to follow who got dragged for a joke he made in 2014. I used to jump in and argue it was just a joke, no harm meant, but this time I just typed 'yeah that one was rough' and left it. The weird part is nothing happened, nobody attacked me, and the chat moved on in like 2 minutes. I realized I was spending all this energy defending strangers I do not even know, and the only thing I got back was stress. So how do you all decide when a cancel case is worth fighting for versus just letting it go?
