Saw a local influencer go from 2k to 40k followers in 3 months after one apology video
I follow this small fashion blogger from Austin who got canceled last year for posting some tone-deaf stuff about BLM. She went quiet for about 2 months, then dropped a 12 minute video where she just listened to critiques and didn't make excuses. After that her engagement shot way up, and she started getting brand deals again. Has anyone else noticed certain people bouncing back harder after they actually show accountability instead of doing the typical PR apology?

Watching that actually made me reconsider what I thought about internet apologies.

My cousin runs a small cleaning service here in Cleveland and had the exact same thing happen. She messed up with a client who was a local influencer and posted a genuine apology on her business page, no corporate spin, and her follower count jumped from 500 to 8,000 in a month. I honestly think people are SO used to those fake PR statements that a real human moment stands out like crazy.
