I posted that dairy queen video in 2019 and lost a job over it 2 years later
Back in 2019 I was 22 and working at a hardware store in Ames and I made a dumb video mocking a lady who freaked out over her blizzard, threw it on Twitter, got like 40 likes and forgot about it. Last October a hiring manager at a Des Moines logistics company pulled it up during my interview and said they went with someone else, and that was the moment I finally got it, that nobody was coming for me, I had just put that thing out there myself and it was sitting there waiting. The part I keep chewing on is that I never said sorry, I just deleted it and acted like the mess wasn't mine, so was I even canceled or did I just finally meet my own post?
