Hit 1000 forum posts about cancel culture this morning and it shook me
I checked my profile stats last night and saw I had exactly 1,023 posts in this community alone since joining two years ago. That is a lot of time spent arguing about whether some teenager in Georgia deserved to lose her scholarship for a tweet from 2015. It hit me that I was treating each case like a court case, trying to prove who was right or wrong, but I never asked if the pile-on was actually helping anyone. Have any of you stepped back and counted how many of these cases you have followed to the end without losing sleep over it?

330 posts in the "cancel culture" thread alone. I need a hobby that doesn't involve debating people who still think a bad tweet should get you fired from life.

Hang on, 330 posts? Please tell me that's a typo, @hill.barbara. I thought I was bad with my 50 comments on a thread about pineapple on pizza, but that is next level dedication. You must have memorized everyone's usernames by now and their moms' maiden names. I'm kind of impressed and also a little worried for your browser history. Please tell me at least half of those posts were just you laughing at people.
