A guy in my bowling league tried to get me kicked out over a 2019 Facebook comment about his chili
I bowl on Thursday nights at a lane in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and one of the guys on the opposing team spent a solid 20 minutes pulling up a comment I made 5 years ago about his chili cookoff entry. He printed it out and passed copies around the tables like evidence at a trial, and the thing he was really mad about was me calling the beans 'a bold choice.' Nobody else at the alley cared, but he pushed for a league vote to have me removed and lost 11 to 2. The two votes he got were himself and his brother in law. Where do you draw the line on old posts being fair game when the person clearly saved the screenshot for years?
Man, the fact that he printed it out and passed copies around tells you everything. That is not a guy who just happened to remember a comment, that is a guy who had it saved and waited for his moment. Once you sit on something for five years and treat it like courtroom evidence, you lose the right to act like you were wronged, because at that point you are just looking for a fight.
