A fiber artist in Austin talked me out of my hate for synthetic brushes

I used to swear by natural bristle for acrylics, but after a 2022 workshop, she pointed out my strokes were uneven and chalky. She made me try a $6 nylon flat brush on wet canvas, and honestly, the layering came out smoother. Now I keep a mix of both, but I reach for the synthetic ones for detail work more often. Has anyone else had a teacher flip their toolkit like that?
