Why does nobody talk about fixing wobbly camping chairs?

I see so many reviews for new gear, but hardly any on simple repairs. My camping chair got all shaky and almost tipped over last time I was out. I was ready to toss it and spend cash on a new one. Then I took a closer look and saw the leg connectors were worn out. I tightened them with a wrench from my toolkit, and it fixed the whole thing. Now it feels solid again, and I didn't have to buy anything. It's a small fix that makes a big difference for safety and saving money.

Yeah, and once the frame starts going, the fabric stress points go next.

Wow, solid fix there. But hey, not every wobble comes from loose bolts. Frames can bend out of shape too. Chen.robin had it right with the hex key, but if the plastic connectors are cracked, you're out of luck. I've had chairs where the fabric goes first, makes the whole thing shaky. Gotta look at the whole picture before you call it a simple fix.

I used to be quick to replace gear too, thinking a wobble meant it was done for. But last season I had the same thing happen, and a simple tighten with a hex key made it good as new. It really changed how I see my stuff now. There's a real satisfaction in making the fix yourself and keeping something out of the landfill. We get so focused on the next new thing that we forget how long most items can last with a little care. It feels like a small win against a throwaway culture.
