Unpopular opinion: my $200 tent let me down but the $80 special held up
I brought a name-brand 4-season tent on a trip to the Sierras last spring and the poles snapped in moderate wind. My buddy's cheap Coleman from Walmart stayed solid through the whole storm while I was scrambling to patch mine with duct tape. Has anyone else had fancy gear fail but the budget stuff surprise you?
