Tried a new ultralight tarp in a Colorado thunderstorm

It held up fine, but the setup time with those tiny guylines was a nightmare in the wind. Anyone have a go-to knot or trick for managing thin cord in bad weather?

Honestly, that setup time is part of the deal. You traded bulk for a fuss.

Yeah, the trucker's hitch is a game changer for thin lines. Makes that windy setup way less of a fight.

Man, gotta push back on the idea that fuss is just part of the deal. Kim_smith82 has a point about trading bulk, but there are totally ways to speed it up. I mean, a simple trucker's hitch with a quick-release loop on those thin lines changed everything for me in the wind. Maybe it's just me, but a little practice with the right knot means you don't have to just accept a long, miserable setup.
