Tbh, I've started leaving my sleeping bag at home and I sleep better

I always packed my sleeping bag thinking it was a must-have for warmth. But after trying just a good blanket on a cool night, I realized I was more comfortable without the bulk. Do you ever feel like we pack too much gear just because everyone says we should?

Saw my friend pack a heavy hatchet for every car camping trip. Finally asked him why and he said his grandpa always told him it was a must-have, even though he never once used it.

Tradition is just another word for tested experience. That hatchet might seem useless until you need to clear a fallen branch or fix a tent stake. Ditching gear just because it's old school can leave you unprepared.
