Tarp stakes after 300 nights, who actually tests this stuff?

I just hit my 300th night with the same 4 aluminum stakes and two of them bent on night 298, so where are the long term reviews that don't just take gear out for one weekend?

300 nights" sounds like a lot until you realize most people are talking about car camping, not real weather. I've had cheap stakes last forever in good soil and expensive ones bend on the first rocky night. Maybe your ground was just harder than usual or you hit a root. I'm not saying nobody should test this stuff, but 298 nights is pretty solid for anything you put in the dirt. Unless you're living out there full time, a bent stake is like a five dollar fix. Seems like a pretty small thing to get worked up about.
