Remembering the night I tried to set up a new tent in the dark near Flagstaff

It took me over an hour to figure out the new pole clip system, a job the old dome would have handled in ten minutes, so what's a piece of gear you used to love that got worse with a 'new and improved' design?

It seems like a lot of modern upgrades just add pointless complexity for no real gain.

Absolutely, it's like they're solving problems nobody actually has. My new smart TV has a menu system that takes ten clicks just to change the input, when the old one had a single button. Why do we need an app for a washing machine? Just give me a dial to turn. Feels like change for the sake of change, not to make things better.

@the_grant you hit the nail right on the head with that one lol. I just spent a solid 15 minutes trying to figure out why my new fridge needed a wifi password. Like, its only job is keeping milk cold. The old one just had a dial and some shelves and it worked perfectly for 20 years. Why do they gotta wrap everything in touchscreens and apps now? Its exhausting honestly.
