PSA: That $80 'ultra-light' camp chair is a total joke...

Bought one for a trip to the Smokies last month, thinking it would be a game-changer. The fabric ripped on the second night just from me leaning back to look at the stars. It was basically fancy aluminum foil and thread... I'm back to my old, slightly heavier one that's lasted five seasons. Anyone have a real suggestion for a chair that won't fall apart?

Sounds like you paid for the stars, not the chair.

How is that even legal? It's wild what some companies get away with charging just because they put their name on something. You basically bought a ticket to sit in a crappy seat and got none of the perks that should come with it. I hate how things like this make people feel stupid for trusting a brand. Good on you for speaking up about it, more people should call this stuff out.

Laura's got it right, you're basically buying a fancy name tag instead of a place to sit. Seen it happen with tools too, where the brand costs triple for the same steel. Makes you wonder who actually falls for that stuff.
