Update: Thought zip ties were fine for every drop until a service call in Mesa last Tuesday
Had to cut 47 zip ties off a 12-run bundle because one cat6 got nicked, swapped to velcro straps that same day, and now I want to know if anyone else has a cable lacing trick that survives a re-pull without scissors.
47 zip ties on 12 runs is basically the same as those plastic bread clips and phone charger cables that came wrapped in a twist tie you can never reuse. Everything cheap holds great one time and then punishes you the next time you touch it. I keep a bag of reusable hook and loop ties in the van, cut them long so you can roll the bundle instead of cinching it, and they come off with one finger when you need to pull one cable. Costs a little more up front but your hands stop looking like you lost a fight with a stapler.
