Tried the orange core method for a month, my terminations got worse

Everyone on here swears by the orange core stripping method for coax, so I gave it a solid 30 days on 40+ jobs around Columbus. My first week I had two connectors fail a signal test, which never happened with my old blue tool. I thought I was just adjusting, but by week three my braid damage rate went up, not down. I went back to the classic strip-and-fold and my pass rate jumped back to 100% on the next 10 jobs. Anyone else find the hype around a certain technique just doesn't match their hands-on reality?
