PSA: A zip tie trick for fishing behind old plaster walls

Honestly, I was stuck for an hour trying to get a line down a wall in a 1950s house. I taped a small zip tie to the fish tape, with the tail pointing back, and it snagged way less on the lath. Anyone else have a go-to method for plaster?

Buddy used a glow stick once. Worked weirdly well.

Yeah the cheap ones from the dollar store are perfect for that, you don't need anything fancy. Just crack it and slide it in there, gives you just enough light to see the port without being blinding. I keep a couple in my glove box for roadside fixes at night, lol. Way better than trying to hold your phone with your teeth.

That glow stick idea is actually pretty smart, I bet the green or blue light works better than trying to aim a flashlight. You could even snap a couple and hang them from the hood latch for a hands-free setup while you're working. Might have to grab a pack next time I'm at the dollar store, thanks for the tip.
