Spent three hours trying to get a mitered corner on a built-in to close up perfectly. It was off by maybe a sixteenth.

Been there, a tiny shim can fix that gap.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. So close but just not quite right.

Used to think you could just muscle through any gap and be fine, but nope. A tiny shim really does save so much headache. Changed my whole approach to these tight fit situations. Now I keep a handful of different sized shims in my toolbox just for stuff like this. Makes that last little gap feel way less soul crushing.
