Serious question, why do so many people skip the test fit on inset doors?
I've seen at least three jobs in my area, including a big kitchen remodel in Springfield, where the doors were cut before checking the reveal. The installer told me they 'always use a 1/8 inch gap' but the hinges were binding because the openings weren't perfectly square. How do you guys handle your final sizing to avoid this?

What's the rush to cut before checking the actual opening?

Exactly, you gotta see the full picture first. Cutting blind just creates more work when you realize the opening is in the wrong spot or sized wrong. I've seen guys waste a whole sheet of drywall because they measured once and cut twice without looking.
