My old boss said 'the wood tells you what it wants' and I rolled my eyes at 22
He said it back in 2001 in a shop off Grand Ave, and last night I caught myself saying the same thing to a kid running a board through the planer the wrong way, because you can hear the grain tearing before you see it. Funny how a dumb line sticks with you once you've ruined enough wood. What shop sayings did you swear you'd never repeat?
