Built-in USB ports are becoming a standard request in my shop
Lately, almost every kitchen remodel I quote includes a request for hidden phone chargers. It makes sense with everyone having so many gadgets, but it adds a new step to the design. How are you all handling the wiring for these in solid wood cabinets?

I've been routing shallow channels in the back panels for the wiring... it hides everything without compromising the cabinet strength. Following the wood grain helps mask the cut, and I use a small bit to keep it neat. Feeding the cables through and securing them with basic clips keeps things tidy and accessible. Just measure twice so you don't go through the other side on thinner wood. It's an extra step but finishes so cleanly for clients.

How small of a bit do you use?

Routing channels is a smart way to hide wires. I read that some people even use a router with a guide bushing for really straight lines. Makes the whole back panel look factory clean.
