Appreciation post: the day I figured out I'd been using my cabinet scraper completely backwards

So I've been cabinetmaking for about 8 years now, and I always wondered why my scrapers would leave these weird chatter marks. Last week at a shop in Portland, an old guy named Doug watched me for about 30 seconds and goes 'you got the burr on the wrong side, son.' Apparently I'd been pulling instead of pushing this whole time, and the burr was facing away from the wood. Has anyone else had one of those embarrassing 'wait I've been doing what' moments with a basic hand tool?
