Appreciation post: the 1920s dovetails I found in a farmhouse near Waxahachie
Stopped at an estate sale off FM 66 last Saturday and the kitchen still had the original built-ins, all hand cut dovetails, super thin pins too. You could see the saw marks inside the joints, not one of them perfectly even. I stood there for 15 minutes just pulling drawers in and out while my wife kept asking if I was okay. Made me feel like a hack with my router jig, honestly. Any of you ever pull apart old work like that and try to figure out how they laid it out without a tape?
