A client's simple note about my drawer slides completely changed my approach
They said the action felt 'gritty' on a built-in I delivered, so I switched from the basic side-mounts to full-extension undermounts on the next project. The difference in feel is night and day... anyone have a go-to brand for soft-close undermounts they trust?

You tried Blum yet? They're pricier but I switched after a similar grit issue on a kitchen job and never looked back. The difference is massive - my last set had this smooth, weighted feel that clients actually notice and mention. They're a pain to install compared to side mounts but worth it for the feedback you get. Just make sure your box is square or the adjustment tabs will drive you crazy.

Oh man, Blum is legit overpriced though. You can get the same smooth feel from Chinese copies for half the cost.

Stick with the Blum stuff even if it stings the wallet. Those cheap copies feel smooth at first but start binding up after a year or so, especially in humid kitchens. I tested a few no-name brands thinking I was smart with the savings, ended up replacing three sets inside 18 months. That gritty feedback from your client was a gift, don't waste it chasing half price parts that'll make you look bad later.
