My dad's 2 year old $12 boots outlasted my $180 ones, and a cobbler in Tulsa explained why
Stopped by a cobbler shop on 11th Street in Tulsa last month to get a heel fixed. Guy looked at my boots and said "you bought soft leather with a glued sole, that's a 2 year boot no matter what you paid." Then he pointed at my dad's old work boots sitting in the corner, resoled twice for $40 total, still going after 20 years. Made me rethink the whole price equals quality idea I had. What do you all look for first on a boot, the stitch or the leather?
