My 12 year old thermos finally died, and the replacement made me rethink everything

Last month I dropped my old Stanley thermos on the concrete at a job site in Austin, and the lid cracked clean off. That thing had survived daily coffee for 12 years, so I figured any new one would be an upgrade. Nope, the new one I got from a big box store started leaking by the third day. I went back to the same shop where my dad bought the original and asked if they still made them like that, the clerk just laughed and said 'they don't make anything like that anymore.' Has anyone else found a new thermos that actually holds up, or should I just hunt for a vintage one online?

Got a new thermos last year and it dented after one drop, like it was made of tin foil? My 12 year old one survived being run over by a forklift, and this new one can't handle a kitchen counter. I'm convinced they engineer them to break now, so either get a vintage one or just accept buying a new one every few years like the rest of us chumps.
