Am I the only one who thought a cast iron skillet was just hype and now I cook almost everything in it?
My grandma had one she used for 40+ years and I always rolled my eyes at the hype, figured a $25 nonstick from the store did the same job. Then two of those nonstick pans peeled apart in my sink in under a year, so I dug hers out of the basement in 2019 and scrubbed the rust off with steel wool. Seven seasons later it still cooks eggs without sticking and I don't think I've bought a new pan since. It took me way longer than it should have to admit she was right.
