The bone saw that just would not quit

Had a custom order for a whole pig last Friday, needed it split down the spine. My main bone saw's motor gave out halfway through. Grabbed the old manual backup saw from the back, the one my granddad used. Figured it would take an extra 15 minutes. That thing must have been duller than a butter knife. Two hours later, my arm was on fire and I was still sawing. The customer called to check on the order and I had to tell him I was still fighting with it. I finally got through by switching to a fresh blade from a different kit. Has anyone else had a simple cut turn into a marathon because of a bad tool?

Okay but "fighting with it" for two hours? That's a choice, not a bad tool. You had a fresh blade in another kit the whole time. Why not just switch right away when you saw how bad it was? Sounds like you got stubborn with your granddad's saw and made the job way harder on yourself.

Hold on though. I mean, I get what you're saying about stubbornness but it wasn't just the blade. I was using a fresh blade in my granddad's saw too. The issue was the saw itself had some flex in the frame that made it wander even with a sharp blade. Switching to the other kit fixed it right away cause that frame was way more rigid. So yeah, maybe I should have swapped sooner but the tool itself was still part of the problem, not just me being stubborn. idk, feels like you're putting all the blame on the user here.

Honestly, that sounds more like a dull blade than a bad tool.
