Three tries to fix the dishwasher, ended up learning about the float switch
Went through 2 weeks of standing water because I kept replacing the pump when the real issue was a stuck float switch, cost me $90 in parts for a $12 fix. Once I cleaned the switch it's been fine for 4 months. Anyone else chase the obvious part before checking the cheap sensor?
$90 on pumps when the real issue was a little plastic float? Man, that hurts to read... I know that feeling of throwing parts at something and hoping it clicks. My old dryer had me convinced it was the heating element for months, replaced it twice, finally broke down and called a guy. He cleaned a lint sensor with a toothbrush and charged me $50 for the visit... still cheaper than two elements though. The worst part is how simple it looks after you figure it out, like the dishwasher was mocking me the whole time.
