Shoutout to my dishwasher after I tried to fix the drain pump myself

I thought I'd save $150 by unclogging the pump myself. Ended up snapping the mounting clip and had to order a whole new assembly for $45. At least now I know how to take the bottom panel off without breaking anything else. Anyone else have a fix that made things worse before they got better?

I used to be the guy who'd say just call a pro and it's not worth the headache. But honestly, that whole mindset changed after I had the same kind of thing happen with my washing machine. Started as a simple belt replacement, ended up with water everywhere and a three-day project because I crossed a hose wrong. Now I figure the $45 and a few scraped knuckles is still better than dropping $150 on a service call, and at least you walk away knowing how your stuff actually works. There's something about breaking it yourself that makes you learn it for real, right?

Actually it's more like $75 now for a service call minimum plus parts, so you're still coming out way ahead. But yeah, nothing teaches you quite like mopping up a puddle of your own making.
