Radiator flush gone wrong at a campground outside Nashville
Tried to flush my truck's cooling system at a KOA in Lebanon, TN and ended up snapping the drain petcock clean off with a pair of pliers. That little plastic piece cost me 3 hours and a tow to a shop that charged $140 just to put a metal replacement in. The kicker is I had watched two different YouTube videos on it before I started, but neither mentioned how brittle those things get after 9 years of heat. Now I soak any plastic fitting in penetrating oil overnight before I touch it, even if it looks fine. Anyone else have a 'simple' coolant job turn into a cash fire? I'm curious if the metal drain plugs are worth swapping in as a preventive move.
