A retired mechanic's two cents on my brake job actually made sense
I was bragging to my neighbor Ed about swapping my own pads and rotors on my 2013 Civic, and he just shook his head. He said I was wasting $180 on cheap rotors that would warp in a year, and told me to buy the mid-grade ones from NAPA instead. That conversation hit different because he didn't try to sell me anything, he just pointed out where I was cutting corners to save a few bucks. Has anyone else had a seasoned pro casually drop advice that made you redo a job you thought was done?
